Project
A 3,800 sq ft Design and Build Cat B Fit Out, due to the nature and values of the client our priority was to create a beautiful design whilst considering the carbon and waste impact of their new space which consisted of a conference room, meeting room, small office, kitchen and post room.
We, therefore, worked extensively to incorporate the clients existing furniture into the new design alongside negotiating with the landlords Cat A team to incorporate CIWM’s requirements of the small power, ceiling and flooring finishes into their scope thereby reducing abortive work and waste.
Place
Following a successful transition to Hybrid working and as CIWM’s current 5-year lease was coming to an end, they were looking to reduce their space requirements as a smaller lease was coming available within their current offices.
We worked with CIWM to negotiate their current landlord the dilapidation liability, develop their design along with the agreeing the license to alter requirements.
Planet
Circularity was fully considered within the Cat B as both the design and installation considered the opportunity of materials used to have future lives. A particular point relates to the 2.7mm high double glazed which were designed and installed in 800mm modules allowing for safe manual handling essential to reuse. The kitchen was selected as 100% of the manufacturing waste is reused, recycled, or recovered and was installed only with mechanical fixings to enable circularity at the end of the lease.
