Our Journey

Paul Gaughan

Business as usual is over

Leaders in the construction industry share a responsibility to create a better built environment, and a better industry. A place where sustainable practices are the norm.

Business and building as usual is over, and we are working to change the way we build, create, and curate spaces.

For 35 years, we built with the bottom line in mind

But we know there is a better way that balances that with purpose, with planet, and the people who work and live in those spaces, too.

We set Lumybel up in 2021 as a construction business supporting clients to become purpose- driven organisations, with sustainability and the circular economy at the heart of their business and strategy – creating value and purpose through construction.

There’s more to learn and a way to go, but we are always developing, partnering, and growing to move the industry forward, with our founder, Paul, completing his Masters Research on the University of Cambridge IDBE programme. We also believe that knowledge sharing and collaboration have developed Strategic Alliances and Partnerships with key suppliers and consultants to deliver low carbon projects, and will continue to do so.

The key to getting this right is a complete shift in mindset within the construction industry. Companies urgently need to move away from ‘business as usual’ to a purpose driven agenda, with sustainable, low carbon practices as their go-to solutions, that work for the budget as well as the planet.

Our clients value our technical low carbon expertise, our honesty and enthusiasm.
