Signed, Sealed, and Delivered - The Better Business Act

We’ve signed the Better Business Act.

The Better Business Act is a movement that calls for company directors to align social and environmental impact with shareholder returns.

Simply put, it is to amend the articles of association for every UK business, to centre people and planet, instead of shareholder value alone.

The objective is to amend Section 172 of the Companies Act. This will see it become law to align people, planet and profit, whereas now, only profit is considered in this conversation.

It would no longer be optional whether a business benefits the wider stakeholders, and businesses would be required to report on their impact and alignment across people, planet, and profit.

This change would see fairer business, more transparent business, and ultimately - better business.
